PIG0311-G Field Tripod, Gen 2

"The Grunt of Tripods"

What's new with the Gen 2?  We doubled the strength of the leg stop shims, and updated the leg locks to be user adjustable. The new leg locks are stronger and increase the load rating to 34 lbs. All other features will remain the same.

*PIG0311-G shooting tripod is sold as the tripod legs alone. A Saddle or ball head would be an additional purchase.*

The PIG0311-G Field Shooting Tripod is based off of the budget friendly and capable SLIK DX700 PRO tripod. We partnered up with SLIK, and started putting together several prototypes with beefed up specs, tighter tolerances, and shooter specific features. After 8 months of testing , we came up with the PIG0311 Field Shooting Tripod. During testing, we used several .50 caliber rifles (Barrett M107 & McMillan Tac50) with great results from officer feedback and reported repeatable shot placement. Being unsure of what kind of garage cannon that might be placed on the tripod itself, we decided on a conservative 34 pound load rating. The PIG0311-G was designed for the active outdoorsman; meant to get dirty, thrown in trucks, and used outside often. Paired with a direct mounted HOG Saddle® or PIG Saddle®, this shooting tripod can do almost anything a more expensive tripod kit can do, but at a fraction of the cost.

PIG0311-G Field Shooting Tripod Features:

  • The center column allows the shooter to get down to a 11.5” high prone position.
  • The center column can rotate a full 360°.

    Pig 0311 tripod

Posted by Samuel Garday on 18th Jan 2018

GREAT TRi-POD!!! I recently switched from a Manfrotto that was half the size, but not near as stable and didn't come with any of the cool sniper minded features that this one did. It came with the shortened center pole for a "high prone position". It came with a hook to hang your ruck to stabilize it in standing position and it comes with spike feet for rough terrain.

I have never heard of being able to get all these in just one package, its usually a scavenger hunt and modifying a tri-pod meant for photography. The only draw back is its a bit bigger than my prior one to attach to the side of my ruck, but one most pay a price for the stability and ability to go high prone.

The price is amazing too, affordable on a cops or soldiers paycheck when you don't get the carbon fiber version.

    Excellent Quality

This tripod is well built and sturdy. I was a little skeptical as the price was under $100 and many seem to be three or four times that price. I couldn't be happier with the quality and how sturdy it is. The adjust-ability of this is pretty amazing as it goes very low and can be raised to a height that is high enough for a very tall user.

    Awesome!

Posted by Unknown on 17th Jan 2018

I was going to go for the $400 carbon fiber tripod instead, but since I don't really plan on using this but a handful of times per year, I decided to save a few hundred bucks. Wow, this thing is nice! Definitely heavy duty; holds up my 20lb Desert Tech with ease. The rubber feet can be unscrewed and replaced by the included spike feet. The included center hook is great for to hold a bag and keep the tripod even more stable. I'm 5' 10" and its plenty tall for me, likely tall enough for someone well over 6'. Also included is a carrying bag, which I didn't expect, so that's a nice touch. Overall, I'm glad I opted for this tripod over others. Especially at $140!

Here at Triad Holsters , we know quality when we see it, the design features are truly purpose built for a shooting application, this is not just another tri-pod modified for shooting application, it is purpose built from the ground up for the precision shooter, hunter, or military shooter. I am retired Army and I like the idea that I am buying from a Veteran Company.

    Quite surprised!

Posted by Unknown on 15th Jan 2018

I'll be honest I was quite surprised with this tripod! The pictures on the website do it no justice. This is a very robust and well put together piece of kit. Rock solid when partnered with the feisol ball head and pig saddle.

    Solid Choice

Posted by Rob S on 14th Jan 2018

Have tried several tripods, including a few much more expensive than this one, and find I like the simplicity and stability of this model the most. Solid, heavy duty, and no nonsense. I put a pig saddle directly on top and like that combo better than messing with a ball head. Holds my 20lb.+ AIAX 26" barrel and suppressor without a problem or wobble.

    G Field Tripod

Looks like an awesome piece of kit. I just received it and haven't had a chance to actually shoot off it yet but have mounted my precision rifle of 18 pounds on it using your pig saddle and it is very stable. I like the versatility this tripod gives you for the cost. Great products!

    Excellent product!

Posted by Jarret on 27th Jul 2017

I shoot off a tripod when I predator hunt. I shoot either a .223 AR or a Ruger .308 bolt gun, neither of which are exactly lightweight rifles. This tripod holds them both rock solid. Much better then my old setup. Outstanding product!

    Seems military grade

Posted by Jayhawkhuntclub on 21st Jul 2017

Nice tripod. Definitely heavy duty. The rubber feet are rugged looking too. The spike feet and hook are a nice option. And the bag is a plus. The only issue I see is the center column, when raised, is hard to lock in enough to hold my RPR if any additional weight it added (ie leaning into the rifle). I don't plan on raising it too often, so I'm not concerned. But overall, no regrets.
