HOG Saddle® MOD7

NSN 1005-01-616-2719

Our latest model HOG Saddle® with some improvements from the original design. The HOG Saddle MOD7® is currently a standard issue item in the Marine Corps, U.S. Army, and other various Special Operations Units.

List of improvements:

  • Opens 1/4" wider than original model.

  • Weighs just 15.8 ounces.
  • Black oxide stainless steel bolt, guide rods, and noise dampening tension spring.
  • Hard anodized finish, for superior resistance to corrosion (serves as an excellent base coat for a custom camouflage paint job).
  • 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 stainless steel back up threads, with anti-rotation slots to accept tripod QD plates that have video pins.
  • CNC machined torque knob assembly with retention button screw to prevent disassembly in the field.
  • 1/4" thick recessed urethane pads specifically engineered to absorb rifle recoil and reduce muzzle hop.
  • Manufactured in the U.S.A.
  • TAA / Berry Compliant

    Well made and versatile.

Posted by Josh on 9th Aug 2018

The saddle is clearly expertly machined with superior fit and finish and enough adjustability for any forend I can imagine. It securely holds every rifle I tried, even a 16" barrelled Rem700 whose balance point was at or aft of the magazine. Having never shot from a tripod before, my initial mistake was comparing the stability to prone -- which is unfare. But comparing to any other shooting position, the HOG saddle is superior.

The HOG saddle will hold any of my rifles securely. Feels like a sold mount. Good job.

    Outstanding Product

Very impressive product for my kit. Holds all my different types of rifles. I also purchased the sunwayfoto xb 52 ball head and the pig tripod. Both products work excellent with the hog saddle. Very well made products would recommend all three.

    INCREDIBLE PRODUCT

If your basing your purchase off reading the reviews don't wait any further. The pictures don't justify the quality and craftsmanship that has gone into this product. You won't be sorry it's the real deal!

LIKE A MINI VISE FOR YOUR RIFLE!!!

Great product! I've had an opportunity to play with it and I love it. The design is great, the quality of it is great! Fit and finish if the Hog Saddle is excellent! It's very solid and robust, and the clamping force is very strong. I'm impressed with the weight rating.

If it's good enough for a USMC Scout Sniper then it is good enough for me! I'm very happy with it.

    Impressed and shocked,

Posted by Kevin Johnson on 1st Feb 2018

Based on recommendations here I purchased one of these and placed it on my Manfrotto tripod for my son to use in the pop up this fall.

I am someone that is tough to impress, mainly because I do my research and have solid expectations of what to expect from a product when it arrives. This product blew me away, it was WAY beyond my expectations. We engineered, well machined, well thought out.

I will be shooting with it this weekend.

    Well Built

Great product well built. I used over the weekend and took some kids hunting in the Texas Hill Country. We were hunting Axis deer and the Hog Saddle helped the girls make some great shots. I would recommend to anyone from experience to a first time shooter.

    Field Certified

This past Sunday my father and I went on an axis deer hunt where I used my HOG Saddle along with my PRST Tripod for the first time. I have never used either before, been shooting off sticks for as long as I can remember. Never again!!! After lunch we glassed 2 deer and put the stalk on ‘em. Found a great place to set up 300yds out, I shoot a Tikka t3 .260. I got set up, tripod all the way up because i’m 6’5”, locked my rifle in the HOG Saddle and got on target. I can’t tell you how stable I felt and how confident I felt standing there with that set up, unbelievable. I’ve never had such a great shooting position that wasn’t prone, solid all the way around, no BS. I swiveled L to R lining up my shots on both deer. I took the first shot and it was perfect. The deer’s head dropped right where it was. The part that threw me is that I was still on target. I paused and double checked that I was still looking at the first deer. In recoil I hadn’t even moved. I was stunned. I immediately swiveled to the second deer that was looking in my direction and shot. It dropped too. And again I noticed that my gun was right where I was aiming, not a hair off. I was thrown. My dad and uncle were elated that I got both, they couldn’t believe how fast I got my shots off. Neither could I, I’m still amazed how it all happened. The tripod with the HOG Saddle are a complete game changer! Best set up you could ever have. Unbelievable! I’ll never hunt without them again, ever. I can’t wait to use them again in a few weeks. Thank you HOG Saddle for an amazing product and the pairing with an amazing tripod, they’re worth every penny and then some. Changed my hunting and shooting game forever.

Very good quality, great safety and comfort in the shots.

Although I had to "learn" to pull again because of the difference in stability of my rifle (I remind you that I do not have a tripod for weapons, but one for photography), I could hit the target at 500, 600 and 800 meters. In all cases 4 out of 5 shots.
At 1.00, 1,200 and 1,500 meters was smaller, but the problem was not the Hog Saddle, but myself.
Excellent product, I recommend it extensively.
