MOD7 HOG Saddle

NSN 1005-01-616-2719

This is our latest model HOG Saddle with some improvements from the original design. The MOD7 is currently a standard issue item in the US Marine Corps and other various Special Opperations Units.

List of improvements:

1.  Opens 1/4" wider than original model.   (2 11/16" Open, 1 1/2" Closed)
2.  Incorporates a retention button screw to prevent unintentional dissassembly in the field
3.  Weighs 15.8 ounces

·         CNC machined torque knob assembly with retention button screw to prevent disassembly in the field (opens 1/4in wider than previous model)

·         Stainless steel noise dampening tension spring

·         1/4 inch thick, recessed urethane pads specifically engineered to absorb rifle recoil and reduce muzzle jump

·         Anti-rotation slots to accept tripod QD plates that have video pins

·         Superior resistance to corrosion

  1. Field Certified 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Oct 2017

This past Sunday my father and I went on an axis deer hunt where I used my HOG Saddle along with my PRST Tripod for the first time. I have never used either before, been shooting off sticks for as long as I can remember. Never again!!! After lunch we glassed 2 deer and put the stalk on ‘em. Found a great place to set up 300yds out, I shoot a Tikka t3 .260. I got set up, tripod all the way up because i’m 6’5”, locked my rifle in the HOG Saddle and got on target. I can’t tell you how stable I felt and how confident I felt standing there with that set up, unbelievable. I’ve never had such a great shooting position that wasn’t prone, solid all the way around, no BS. I swiveled L to R lining up my shots on both deer. I took the first shot and it was perfect. The deer’s head dropped right where it was. The part that threw me is that I was still on target. I paused and double checked that I was still looking at the first deer. In recoil I hadn’t even moved. I was stunned. I immediately swiveled to the second deer that was looking in my direction and shot. It dropped too. And again I noticed that my gun was right where I was aiming, not a hair off. I was thrown. My dad and uncle were elated that I got both, they couldn’t believe how fast I got my shots off. Neither could I, I’m still amazed how it all happened. The tripod with the HOG Saddle are a complete game changer! Best set up you could ever have. Unbelievable! I’ll never hunt without them again, ever. I can’t wait to use them again in a few weeks. Thank you HOG Saddle for an amazing product and the pairing with an amazing tripod, they’re worth every penny and then some. Changed my hunting and shooting game forever.

  2. Very good quality, great safety and comfort in the shots. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 8th Jul 2017

Although I had to "learn" to pull again because of the difference in stability of my rifle (I remind you that I do not have a tripod for weapons, but one for photography), I could hit the target at 500, 600 and 800 meters. In all cases 4 out of 5 shots.
At 1.00, 1,200 and 1,500 meters was smaller, but the problem was not the Hog Saddle, but myself.
Excellent product, I recommend it extensively.

  5. rock solid 5 Star Review

Posted by on 21st Mar 2017

Any real world shooting rarely happens in the prone position, this gem of a product is a godsend, quickly deployable, stable as a bench and rock solid build quality!
It will take any abuse you can throw at it and still perform in any and all weather conditions!
We've put these through the ringer and they're still like new!
    Top top class!
Would give 10 stars if I could

  6. A Perfect Gift 5 Star Review

  7. stability matters 5 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Dec 2016

Not many words to describe it, it gives enough stability off a tripod for hits on 10" plates at 800m!
If your on the fence about buying one of these, just buy it! It's a purchase you won't regret

  8. Great product! love it 5 Star Review

Posted by on 4th Nov 2016

I have used the hog saddle for about a month now...and it is a great addition to my manfrotto tripod. It is very well built. Makes shooting from standing simple. I do highly recommend using a sling with it, the rubber pads go have a slight give to them and when my 26" varmint barrel gets to moving it takes a little bit to calm in down but with a sling mounted I can twist around leg of tripod applying downward pressure to gun making it very steady. Customer service was great! Great job!

  9. quality + great customer service 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Oct 2016

Easier to use than a regular bipod. The quality service and guidance when I called in and spoke with a former CA dude made the choice easy. Thanks Josh!

  10. found out something 5 Star Review

Posted by on 22nd Aug 2016

Discovered if you put a large O-ring between the saddle and tripod it makes a world of difference. The lock up is much more positive .
